Amada and Regina, both from Los Angeles, met in college at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Amada proposed at the couple’s home on January 14th 2016, the day before their six year anniversary.
Regina: The proposal was great and absolutely unexpected.
Amada: For the proposal I wanted to do something I’ve never done before, a little surprise. So I decided to cook a steak dinner. I was actually running low on time—Regina was on her way—so I sent her to get cheesecake “for our anniversary.” I set up the dinner table and scattered purple rose petals leading down the hallway. When I saw her car pull up I started the song and waited in the bedroom.
Regina: I came home from a long day at work and when I walked in the house my favorite song, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” was playing and there were candles and rose petals leading me to the back of the house.
Amada: She crept down the hallway and when she came around the corner I was already on my knee, with tears in my eyes. The love of my life was right before me, speechless. But she did say yes, without hesitation.
Regina: When I got down the hallway Amada was there, down on one knees with this beautiful ring. We celebrated our engagement and six year anniversary the next day at Sunset Ranch in Hollywood.
The couple will wed on May 7th 2017.
