Megg & Naomi's Intimate Winter Wedding

Megg & Naomi were married in an intimate setting with just 60 guests on a cold winter day in February. The brides made the entire day special, running through the frozen streets of Philly in their wedding dresses and later dancing the night away surrounded by the warmth of family of friends.

Naomi admits she doesn’t love being the center of attention and therefore isn’t a huge fan of weddings, but believes her special day with Megg was perfect.

Megg’s Favorite Moment: The entire day was a dream for me.

Naomi’s Favorite Moment: I loved being among family and friends, and I loved the reason behind this day – getting to call Megg my wife.

Megg adds that seeing Naomi in her dress for the first time was a definite highlight, as well as promising each other that for the rest of their lives they ‘will never walk alone.’

Both brides loved getting dolled up in the salon with each other and their bridal parties. Says Naomi, “We had a pretty funny moment when leaving the salon when we realized we had mistakenly taken some accessories from the salon, thinking they belonged to our make-up artists … it was hilarious walking it back. There is an incredible picture of us with our bridesmaids standing in the wind when we realized what we had done.”

The brides had joint bridal parties. Naomi adds, “I feel that everyone present that day was a loved one. Everyone is someone very special to us and our relationship.” Naomi was escorted down the aisle by her mother, followed by Megg and her father. A string quartet played Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” as they walked down the aisle. For the ceremony the brides chose various parts of different vows and readings to create something that had the most meaning for them.

Wedding Song: “Make You Feel My Love,” by Adele.

The brides love this song and found that the words rang true to their relationship and feelings for each other.

Megg and Naomi had a first dance but asked the DJ to invite family and friends to join them right away. Rather than a guest book the brides had a “tip” jar so that guests could leave tips for a happy marriage. The table numbers were black and white pictures that Megg & Naomi took of the street signs from places significant to their relationship, and instead of favors the brides made a donation to the ASPCA in the name of our guests.

Though their wedding cake was delicious, it wasn’t quite the design the brides had in mind. They advise checking in with the bakery a week before the event to review the details. Still, asked if there’s anything they would change about their day the brides say, “Not a thing.”
